WAMS Mediator Certification: 1989
Accomplishments: Mr. Vhugen has been
practicing law since 1957, with an emphasis on maritime/admiralty,
worker’s compensation, and personal injury cases. Formerly a partner at
Levinson Friedman and now Of Counsel at Kraft, Palmer & Davies, Mr.
Vhugen’s personal injury representation has been on behalf of
plaintiffs. In addition to the above areas of focus, he has experience
with medical negligence and other matters involving professional
liability.
As an arbitrator, Mr. Vhugen serves on three
arbitrator panels and as a sole arbitrator. Mr. Vhugen has lectured on
issues surrounding professional responsibility at the University of
Washington School of Law and has been a seminar speaker on topics
involving trial tactics, maritime law, and personal injury law. Mr.
Vhugen is an elected Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers
has been selected as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” since 1991.
He has been named a “Super Lawyer” by Law & Politics since 2000 and
has appeared in the national “Who’s Who in America” registry since 1999
